He is a 3-year old Abyssinian pig who I adopted, along with his brother, The Dude, as companions for my black and white American pig, Raymond. His friend Boris had passed away and he was a lonely pig. The boys were about 3 months old when I adopted them, so Ray is still "boss hog." The 3 get along pretty well, and also socialize with my rabbits, birds and dogs.
We moved from Petaluma, California, to Minneapolis a year ago. The pigs handled the move well, and they love being outside in their backyard corral during the day. Surfer is a handsome fellow and is the largest of the 3 pigs, but also the most shy. He enjoys eating, of course, especially tender herbs and other greens. He can also be found relaxing in the pigs' hammock, or snoozing in his "pigloo." When held, he is very affectionate-- an excellent piggie pet!
